Springing Back...very busy March ahead!

Marshall staff, you deserve the world!  May you enjoy the week off of school doing the things you love with the people you choose!  We have a very busy final quarter of this rigorous year.  Thank you for your attention to the matters below. Thank you for always bringing your best for each and every student!

We have room for more students who are yellow, but we are already over on the orange students.  If they have been recommended, they will be receiving registration information in the mail the week of March 18. Please remind them that it is first come first served. Also, Mrs. Overton has a copy of the "Strategies to Assist Your Child" that is mentioned in the MOWR letter. Feel free to stop in if you would like to make copies for your families.

FUSD has created a new web page dedicated to sharing professional learning opportunities provided by FUSD community partner organizations.  It is so cool!

Please check out the FUSD Partner Organizations Professional Learning Page on the FUSD Professional Learning Website (must be logged in with your FUSD credentials to access all site content).
This new site will be updated with upcoming PD opportunities offered by Outside Organizations that FUSD works closely with as a community partner. Please note that these professional learning opportunities would follow the same salary advancement eligibility as all other PD offered by non-FUSD providers.  Happy Spring Break and Happy Continued Learning!

Don’t forget about our book study on The Knowledge Gap: The Hidden Cause of America's Broken Education System--and How to Fix It by Natalie Wexler. You can sign up in Frontline.

Our first book study will be March 25 from 4:00-5:00 in room 20. We will be discussing chapters 1-6. Please come with the chapters read and ready to share some of your key takeaways.

The other two dates are April 15 for chapters 7-8 and April 29 for chapters 9-12.  See you there!

Streaming Swank over AppleTV

To stream a Swank movie over AppleTV, you cannot use the “Screen Mirror” feature in your computer’s control panel. Swank has its own Airplay icon in the movie itself. To stream a movie on Swank through your AppleTV and projector, please follow these instructions:

  1. Log into Swank (Please ask your LMS for instructions on creating a Swank account).
  2. Find the movie you’d like to stream.
  3. Click on the “Watch” button

4.            Once the movie starts to play, click on the AirPlay button near the movie’s timeline and select your AppleTV:

Please Update Teacher & Student iPads

The testing and assessment software that runs on the iPads recommends that all iPads are updated to either version 17.3 or 17.3.1. Please make sure your iPads and your student’s iPads are updated to this version by Thursday, March 7th. At the end of day on the 7th, we will freeze iPads from being able to update to prevent them from upgrading to a future version of iOS that the assessment software may not support. Thank you for your diligence in ensuring our testing season runs smoothly.

Next week, CORE will be delivering their construction trailer to the parking lot adjacent to the field. They will have construction fencing around it and it will not interfere with traffic patterns now!  Let's go!
