We are pleased to inform you that Eva Marshall Elementary has been awarded a $7,400.00 grant from Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff and/or its Collaborators for the proposal titled, "Marshall Academic High Altitude Suzuki Violin Project 2025/2026".   Whooooohoo!


The APS Supply My Class program is back!       


Eligible teachers -- enter for a chance to win a $500 prepaid card.
Through the APS Supply My Class program, 500 qualifying Arizona schoolteachers who enter will randomly be selected to receive a $500 prepaid card that could be used towards classroom supplies.
Who qualifies:
If you or someone you know is a K-12 teacher working at a school within our service territory, he or she may be eligible to enter for a chance to win.

The Lessons (golf):

Bridges: Workbooks are in the gym. August will begin with September Number Corner!

95%: Either Thursday or Friday, your workbooks for 95% will be delivered to Marshall.

Mystery Science: You should have access to the platform; if not, let me know, and we can figure it out for you. K-3 Teachers.

Mosa Mack Pro Account: Should be active 4-5 Teachers.

TCI (grades 4/5): Subscriptions have been ordered.

We have some really exciting news re: interventions and screeners!  We will save it for our Marshall Welcome Back meeting on Friday. 


Every Day Counts in FUSD - Student Absences

Attendance message from FUSD will go to all families before July 31. What you should know:

~ A parent/guardian must contact the school within 48 hours of a student’s absence.
~ Acceptable reasons for a student to be absent from school that are excusable by their parent or guardian:  illness, doctor appointment, mental or behavioral health, homelessness, bereavement, family emergencies, family vacation (up to three (3) days per school year), time necessary to process for the armed forces, and out-of-school suspensions.

Nancy will be doing Writing Revolution PD at Knoles this year.  If you missed the opportunity to learn with us last year (Marshall's voluntary book study), Knoles  has offered to invite other schools. Please let me know if you are interested.

~Teachers should start with the September Number Corner and move on from there.

~ Feel free to reach out at any time with questions or concerns.  Let me know if you or your team want to work through anything; planning, finding resources on the educator site, work places, number corner, number talks, strange new models or strategies or anything else.

~ Remember that you are required to teach 80 minutes of Bridges in Math everyday!
20 minutes of Number Corner and 
60 minutes of Problems and Investigations and Work Place

~ The Bridges Educator Site is invaluable as a resource and once you have an account with an FUSD email you can access Bridges through Clever!!
Remember we are all math people!


Transition to iPads for Document Camera Use

Unfortunately, due to some fire marshal findings, FUSD needed to mobilize quickly over the past week or so to remove the VGA cables from ceilings. These were a fire hazard and the remediation to get them up to code was more expensive than our preferred solution of iPad stands to use as document cameras. This accelerated our timelines of moving away from doc cams.  


As some document cameras become outdated or stop functioning, we will be transitioning to the use of teacher iPads, paired with district-provided stands. A document camera functions as a mounted camera that projects images through a projector. Teachers can now use an iPad on a stand in the same way, either through the Camera app or by downloading the Doc Cam app from Self-Service.

To support this transition, the LTI department has created an instructional video tutorial, highlighting the features and benefits of this new setup.

Mandatory Training Modules 

To ensure we are aligned with district policies, state law, safety protocols, and professional standards.

These modules are now available in Canvas, and all staff must complete them by September 15, 2025.
To Enroll and Access the Modules:
  2. Click “Enroll in Course” for the Mandatory Training 2025 course.
  4. You may revisit completed sections if you need to review any content.
Modules Include but are not limited to:
  • Mandated Reporting
  • FERPA
  • Bloodborne Pathogens
Each module includes brief content, followed by a short quiz or acknowledgement. Completion will be tracked automatically through Canvas.
If you have any trouble accessing Canvas or enrolling in the course, please contact the help desk for assistance.
