Together, we will thrive in 2025!

Welcome Back, Mustangs!

Happy New Year, and welcome to 2025! As we tackle (congratulations to Mrs. Hulls for taking down #1 Mrs. Ayala in our Mustang Fantasy Football Varsity League)  this second semester, I want to take a moment to celebrate and recognize the unwavering dedication each of you bring to our students and community. Your passion for excellence and commitment to nurturing our future leaders inspires me daily!  I would not want to do this work with any other team.  I choose Marshall.  I choose our students and I am honored to support this professional staff!

Together, we’ve cultivated a culture of high expectations and continued professional growth. This semester, we will continue to uphold our commitment to:

  • Implementing high-yield teaching strategies that engage and empower every learner.
  • Collaborating as grade-level teams to share ideas, tackle challenges, and elevate our instructional practices.
  • Partnering with district colleagues to align our work with broader goals and best practices.
  • Developing behavior solutions that support students in meeting our shared high academic and behavioral standards.

As we prepare for the testing season and begin envisioning the 2025-26 school year, we will continue our focus on Defining, Aligning, and Refining our systems to ensure that we remain a model of excellence. With your dedication and expertise, we will not only meet but exceed the challenges and opportunities ahead.

In 2025, we thrive together. Your impact goes beyond the classroom walls, shaping lives and building a brighter future. I am honored to work with this incredible team, and I know that together, we rise to every occasion.

Let’s make this semester unforgettable. Mustang pride—always!

Your proud principal, Reasor!

Welcome to our new staff members:

John Coe, former Marshall principal, is working with our students at recess duties in between his Snowbowl shifts!  Please welcome him back to what is quickly becoming his happy place!

Sina Kempton is our CrossCategorial Teacher!  We waited very patiently for a highly qualified candidate who can best serve our students and partner with our team.  Sina was worth the wait!  More to come in her welcome bio. Please stop in to welcome her to our team.

Staff working remotely will be required to complete the telework agreement. Please complete this agreement in advance of working in a telework capacity.

Salary Advancement

The FUSD Salary Advancement Information has been updated for 2024 and can be reviewed on the Salary Advancement Information Webpage (FUSD staff must be signed into the website with their FUSD login credentials to access this page).

Although all SA submissions forms and required evidence (for eligible professional learning completed from January 1, 2024 to December 31, 2024) must be submitted to the Frontline system by 1/31/23 it is best to submit requests as the eligible activity is completed, rather than waiting until the end to make the submissions.

Gradebook Timeline

  • Gradebook closes Friday, January 10th - Teachers must "Mark All Complete" by 5:00PM - Please email Lynette Hammit for any changes after this point.

  • Once the attendance roll over has been done and teachers have marked them complete (no later than, Friday, January 10th) families will have access to them on ParentVue.

Digital Citizenship
(As of Jan 6 this has been completed by Aubry, Joe, Ogg, Foubert)
As a reminder, digital citizenship education in grades K-12 is required for FUSD to comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and receive E-rate funds.  In addition, current academic standards include digital citizenship as an essential curriculum component.  In order to better prepare our students for life in a digital world and to meet Federal obligations, all FUSD students must receive at least two lessons related to internet safety/digital citizenship during each school year. There are four prepared lessons available on Nearpod for each grade level for teachers to use to complete this task.

FUSD strongly encourages digital citizenship instruction throughout the academic year, as it provides an opportunity to set expectations for online behavior and prepares students for college, career, and life.
All required lessons should be taught, and the verification form should be completed by the teacher no later than Feb. 7, 2025
View the curriculum and the online verification form at: https://www.fusd1.org/internetsafety

Fire & Safety Preparedness@ Marshall

Thank you for your professionalism during all drills.  I know they are disruptive, too frequent and I'm told there has never been a school fire-related death in U.S. history (B. Kuhn~ I have not verified).  Nevertheless, they are important!

Not just a drill for drill's sake: Do you remember this incident....
There was a police-involved shootout in Railroad Springs neighborhood back in 2019 (very near many of our families and some staff members). A mom approached me the next morning.  She was traumatize.  Her family lives directly behind the incident.  The shots were loud, the helicopters were loud and the anxiety was high. She brought her tired student to school because she wanted routine and she wanted to send us a message...

"Thank you for taking safety so seriously at Marshall.  We stared in amazement as our son grabbed his little brother and a book.  He told us all to stay calm and that we are safest in a lock down." He read to his little brother in the corner adding to calm, not the chaos.  He prepared his family based on what he has learned at school.  They were incredibly impressed and very thankful. So am I. Thank you.  You make a difference with all you say and do!!!
