HOWEVER...FUSD is requiring one AI Literacy lesson for all students in grades 4-12th. 4TH AND 5TH grade teachers will be responsible for this!What is digital citizenship?Digital citizenship education in grades K-12 is required for FUSD to comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and receive E-rate funds. In addition, current academic standards include digital citizenship as an essential curriculum component. In order to better prepare our students for life in a digital world and to meet Federal obligations, all FUSD students must receive at least two lessons related to internet safety/digital citizenship during each school year. In addition to the two required lessons, FUSD is requiring one AI Literacy lesson for all students in grades 4-12th.FUSD strongly encourages digital citizenship instruction throughout the academic year, as it provides an opportunity to set expectations for online behavior, prepares students for college, career, life and aligns with our commitment to the State 48 Profile of a Graduate.The FUSD Digital Citizenship & AI Literacy Curriculums are built as ready to teach Nearpod lessons. These lessons are located in the curriculum document on Confluence. Resources are below and are within the District Library in Nearpod.In the district provided curriculum you will find the required lessons at each grade level, an extra 2-3 recommended lessons, and an online verification form to be completed by each staff member that teaches the curriculum to students. IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR HOW MARSHALL WILL HONOR 9/11 DAY OF SERVICE AND REMEMBRANCE!
Marshall is participating in 9/11 day of service. We will be collecting non-perishables (can food and dry food) for the grand opening of the Prescott, AZ Veteran Affairs Center Food Bank starting NOW and ending 9/11.
On Friday, Sept. 11, we will have a fire drill first thing in the morning. Once the drill is complete, we will turn towards the bus lane where a few American Legion bikers will do a few loops to thank us before they load it all up and take it to Prescott for the highly publicized grand opening on Saturday, Sept. 12! What a beautiful and simple way we will make a difference for our AZ Veterans!

~ The official and legal name for Orange Shirt Day in America is National Day of Remembrance of Indigenous Boarding Schools. In Canada, it is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
History: Orange Shirt Day is on September 30th because that time of year was when Indigenous children were historically taken from their homes and forced into residential schools. The date marks the annual time children were separated from their families, starting the painful legacy of the school system.
