Bring on 2020 success!

Last year, this was the first message I sent to you all...
Welcome 2019! THIS IS IT!! This is the year Eva Marshall Magnet Elementary School loses its C status.  We rise above "average" and continue to maintain our student enrollment!  I cannot wait to see what WE, together, accomplish in 2019!  LET'S DO THIS!

Cool to look back and recognize all we, together, were able to accomplish.  You guys are making a huge difference!  As we being our 2nd semester, let's continue to make every moment of everyday count for every kid!  Every kid, every lesson, everyday!  Did you know...
~Marshall continues to have a waiting list at grades K, 4 and 5 for those students who do not live within our boundary.
~Marshall is the 3rd largest elementary school in FUSD.  We have 15+ more than Cromer now.
~Marshall is THE BEST because of YOU!  Bring on 2020!

Spotlight on Mrs. Hattie Loper, Kindergarten Instructional Aid

My name is Hattie Loper, and most of you probably know me as a Marshall parent for the last five years, and perhaps also from my time as a teacher in the Co-op preschool two years ago. I’m originally from England, and used to live in Colorado and California before finally settling here in Flagstaff with my family in 2014. My husband Nate is a tour guide at the Grand Canyon and my children Cade and Amelia attend Marshall in 5th and 3rd grade. Together we also have a natural honey company, and enjoy setting up at the Community Market every summer. This little city on the mountain has been so good to us, it really is the most unique and beautiful community in which to raise a family. Marshall in particular has always been a warm and welcoming place for my children and it’s why we have never left! It’s my absolute pleasure to join the kindergarten team as Jessica Housholder’s new aide, and I look forward to growing into my new role in the next few months. The staff here are some of the most wonderful people I have ever met, and I feel so lucky to be able to work with them every day.

Dismissal Procedures- reminder
Expectations:
1) Students must be dismissed by the teacher, not the bell.
2) Students must walk directly to their designated area (gym bus line, FACTS, Co-Op, front entry for parent pick-up).  No bathroom stops or detours unless given permission by teacher.
3) When in gym bus line, NO FOOD or DRINK allowed.  Keep all belongings packed up.
4) When loading a bus, all students must remain in a single-file line. Clumping is not safe and causes confusion as we load 3 buses at a time.
5) We will begin loading at 3:25pm.  That gives them only 5 min. to get to the gym and line up. Again, no bathroom stops.  There is NO reason to miss a bus.  No time to lag.
6) Remember, you are the last impression of their time at Marshall.  Take a moment to wish them a good evening or ask about their day!  It goes a long way!! 😎
