Gratitude, giving, receiving $$ and more!

A GREAT reminder of all you are doing right!  Thank you for seeing the individual needs in each learner!

~increase resilience
At Marshall, I am genuinely thankful for the work and dedication ALL Marshall teachers commit to each and every student each and every day! I am also incredibly thankful for the relationships and partnerships we have cultivated with our Mustang families and community partners. I appreciate you.  Thank you!  ~J. Reasor

Cori ReyesI am grateful for the community of Marshall teachers, counselors, FACTS staff, Mrs. Reasor and the PTO for all of the love, support and dedication they show to our kids. We love Marshall and have always felt supported and valued by the staff. I am grateful for all of the fun activities offered by the school and staff. I am grateful that Marshall is a safe place for my child and grateful for the knowledge that she will be well-cared for and acknowledged for all her unique talents while she's there.
I'm so grateful that my daughter has a place to go where she feels safe and welcomed every day. Special thanks to Mrs. Thompson for helping guide her and teach her five days a week. Teachers are superstars!
Katie VernonWe are so grateful for Mrs. Stamer! Juniper loves being in band and Mrs. Stamer is so enthusiastic and encouraging.
Sheila CortezAt Marshall we’re very thankful for Mrs.Bianco and all the teachers who contribute to our child’s growth and curiosity for learning! We value your work so much. Were deeply grateful to have someone like you contributing to our child’s growth and emotional well-being. Thank you again for making us feel comfortable being away from our child while at work and for caring for him beyond our expectations while were away. It means the world to us to have you as our child’s educator. May God bless each and every one of you!!
Vlora BerishaMarshall Elementary School is a very friendly enviorment. We are from Europe and this school made my daughter feel as she is in her home. I wish the best for all.
Maribel SalazarMarshall has the best most compassionate and understanding teachers, nurse and front office ladies!! We love Marshall!!
Vanessa JassoJeez, I don’t even know where to start. My son has come a long way with his speech and studies. I swear Marshall and the awesome teachers/staff have impacted my son’s life so much. He came from a school that didn’t intervene and when we came to Marshall everything has been smooth sailing. I am ETERNALLY grateful for all y’all have done. It makes me want to cry tears of joy. My son loves Marshall. He is always coming home and talking up a storm about his studies, teachers, friends and principal. I love hearing it all. Thank you so much Marshall!
Andy WrightI'm grateful for the amazing teachers and staff that make Marshall an amazing school for Murphy. She loves her time there and all the relationships she's built. Keep up the great work! You're a shining star here in Flagstaff!

RTI and Data Collection Update
Due to our Thanksgiving Lunch on Tuesday, we will not be able to maintain our RTI schedule.  Therefore, we are going to cancel RTI for Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week.  We will use those days to reset and be ready for groups on Monday, November 28.
As many of you know, FUSD made the decision to move the Middle of the Year aimswebPLUS Benchmark assessment to January.  I know we value that data for 2nd Quarter Standards Reports.  We have progress monitoring data for the students in the lower 30th%ile that can be used.  However, we would like to offer our support in collecting data for the students in Tier I.  This may look different at each grade level.  I am available to discuss your needs during the week of November 28 so we can be prepared.

~THANK you, Mustang family, for coming together to support our family. I didn't realize how helpful it would be and am so appreciative of your generosity, I will pay it forward. ~ Krause

Thank you to everyone who has supported me in making inclusion a priority for ALL of our students, from increasing inclusion time to opening up your classroom for me to come in and educate your students on communication differences! ~Cartwright

Congratulations on the recent completion of Ms. Judith Arnold in the 2022 DINÉ Teacher Fellows. This is a great honor for your teacher, school, and community!  The Diné Institute for Navajo Nation Educators (DINÉ) is a long-term, cohort-model professional learning opportunity for teachers in K-12 schools serving Diné and other Indigenous students in schools on and bordering the Navajo Nation.  Way to continue your accomplishments, Ms. Arnold!

Each November, the staff of the Flagstaff Unified School District have an opportunity to Step Up for our Community as we launch our annual workplace campaign for the United Way of Northern Arizona.

FUSD’s workplace campaign began November 14, and lasts through December 2.

These past few years have been incredibly challenging times as we have navigated the pandemic, wildfires, and flooding, and therefore many in our communities find themselves in need.  In times like these, when we LIVE UNITEDwe can make a huge difference.  Check out this year campaign video to learn more about the many ways the United Way of Northern Arizona is providing hope to our communities.

All you have to do is CLICK HERE to pledge your support.  Donating options include payroll deduction (beginning the first payroll in January 2023), credit/debit card, or bill later.

Last year, Team FUSD raised $10,572 for the United Way of Northern Arizona.  With your generosity, volunteerism, and spirit of collaboration, I am certain we can provide hope to our community and surpass last year’s campaign total.

To encourage your participation, I am providing incentives for the following levels of giving.  Your name will be entered into a drawing for the prizes below.

  • $26 ($1 per pay period) - Crumbl Cookies - a 12 pk. of Crumbl cookies to share with your colleagues, families, and friends…or you don’t have to share.

  • $78.00 ($3.00 per pay period) - Trading Places - You and the Superintendent swap roles for a day.  While the Superintendent is teaching your class, at recess duty or riding the bus, you will be drinking coffee in his office, meeting with administrators, visiting schools, and talking on the phone to the District attorney.

  • $130 ($5.00 per pay period) - Pancake Breakfast - The Superintendent will serve your school or department a hot pancake breakfast with lots of maple syrup.

So please join me in making a difference as we Step Up for our Community

Thank You!

Michael A. Penca
