A four-day work week...

It's a four-day work week!  Will it goes as fast as a three-day weekend?  Hold on tight!!!

Schedule change I just realized that the district mandated site Professional Learning date (February 15th) is also on a 3-day weekend.  I am moving it up a week to February 8th. Mark your calendars.

AdvancED
As we discussed in our staff meeting, we are moving toward full district accreditation.  You will see Mr. Penca, Mr. McAllister, Mrs. Overton and I coming around conducting a data collection session on February 8th from 10:30-11:30am.  Data will be collected on the learning environment, equitable learning, high expectations, supportive learning, active learning, progress monitoring, well-managed learning and Digital learning.  This is NOT an evaluation of your teaching, but more of a data collection across the district for continuous improvement efforts.
You should have complete the staff survey.
If not, please do so by Wednesday, January 23rd.
The student survey will be conducted by Mr. McAllister for grades 3-5 during technology class.  Thank you Mr. McAllister!
Gradebook

I attended an admin meeting last week on GRADEBOOK practices and procedures

So a few reminders as we move forward this second semester.  Here are the agreed upon expectations.

  • ParentsVUE is up and running!  Parents can track students grades on line (not in Assignment View but Standards View on top right.  While this year is our "soft roll out", next year, ParentVUE will "come out with a full band playing". - Mary Kay Walton
  • Grades should be entered weekly, every 3-5 days.
  • 3-5 grades per standard for Power Law work.
  • I will conducted gradebook audits this semester to determine support needed for full implementation next year.
  • Have questions, ask me or Heather Overton!
