Please help us all see what is happening behind the scenes!

Thank you, to all of the teachers implementing Restorative Practice Circles (connection, celebration, etc.) - YOU ARE AMAZING! ~ Mrs. C

Thank you, I am so impressed with all of our new teachers or teachers who are beginning a new year in a new position. I have had a number of teachers at Marshall reach out to me for a little help with our Native students in these first weeks. Thank you for being problem solvers and reaching out for that assistance. You totally rock! ~Ms. Arnold

Thank you, Miss Vikki for always being so flexible and advocating for our students! ~ Ms. Voorhees

Coconino County Rookie Teacher of the Year FINALIST!
Alianah Mijares and two other finalists will be honored at the Coconino County Teacher of the Year banquet where the Teacher of the Year and Rookie Teacher of the Year will be awarded for the county! Alianah goes above and beyond to connect with her students, their families, and our Marshall community. This is an honorable and deserving recognition for her. Congrats!

APS Supply My Class

You can be awarded a $500 gift card through APS for school supplies. Teachers, you can sign up here to add your name to the raffle. There still one more week to possibly have your name drawn. So easy!  Go for it!!

Did you know?  ELL AZELLA Placement Testing

The following procedure is used to determine a student's eligibility for ELL services.

When a parent registers a student new to the district, he/she is required to fill out a Home Language Survey known as a phlote.

The responses to this Home Language Survey (HLS) are used by the school to provide the most appropriate instructional programs and services for the student. The answers below will determine if a student will take the Arizona English Language Learner Assessment (AZELLA) Placement Test.

1. What language do people speak in the home most of the time?

2. What language does the student speak most of the time?

3. What language did the student first speak or understand?

If a parent responds to at least one of the questions on the phlote as other than English, the information will be verified through the Arizona Department of Education Office of English Language Acquisition Services to determine whether the student needs to be administered the AZELLA Placement Test.

NOT TO DO LIST:   Open House  Due to the increase in Covid numbers and a recommendation from district office to minimize non-essential gatherings, we are going to cancel our Open House for this fall. If you would like to send home a link to a slide show or share student work in another way, please feel free to do so. We will not be doing a formal Zoom Open House this year either.  Continue to focus on your students and your relationships!  You are rocking it!

The Pacing Guide is housed on the FUSD website. Here are the steps to find the guides:

www.fusd1.org

Sign in in the top right corner

Click the Departments and Services Tab

Click on Curriculum & Instruction

On the left side click Teacher Resources

Click on K-5 District ELA Pacing Guides

FUSD has recently implemented a program called Clever, an online portal that allows for single sign-on to various FUSD digital resources. As such, students will need to access Learning.com (FUSD's board adopted technology curriculum) this school year and going forward through Clever. A video tutorial has been created to show you and your students how they will log in to the Clever app on their iPad (one time) and then access Learning.com through Clever.

CLEVER & LEARNING.COM
In order to assign curriculum to your classes in Learning.com, teachers will continue to go to https://login.learning.com/, select the Clever login button, and log in with your FUSD active directory credentials (same credentials as email, Canvas, Google, etc.).

After logging in you will select your Homeroom class for the current school year, select the purple assignments tab at the top and assign curriculum (may want to stick to auto-graded lessons) from the library.  Visit https://support.learning.com/ for additional support and guides to learn more about EasyTech from Learning.com.
