Digital Citizenship Week Oct. 17-21

Have you taught the FUSD digital citizenship lessons to your students this school year?  If not, Digital Citizenship week is a great opportunity to conduct these lessons with students.

Continue to celebrate and promote digital citizenship with your students every day during Digital Citizenship Week by including the Common Sense Education activities, accessible by clicking HERE.

TEI plan 2022/23 for certified teachers

Teacher Evaluation Instrument (TEI) (<--click)

The TEI is our official evaluation instrument for this school year and will be used for formal observations and end of the year evaluations.

TEI Evidence by Indicator Form (<--click)

Please review Domains 1, 2, 3 and list what a score of 3 and 4 would look like in your classroom for each of the indicators. Provide at least one example for each of the sections.  I will use this list of evidence as a guide when conducting observations. This is a very important step in minimizing developing scores and therefore protecting your performance pay (details below).

Domains 1, 2, 3 will be completed during your formal observation/s.

Domain 4 Professional Practice and Learning - Please bring evidence to support in final evaluation (Scheduled in May)

Domain 5 Please complete the self reflection form on Domain 5 by May 1, 2022

Observation Timeline (<--click)

Please review the observation schedule for this school year and add it to your professional calendar. This is rigorous on my end and changes might have to be made. Thank you in advance for your flexibility. I hope you recognize that more time with YOU is the goal this year.

Pre-Conference 15 minutes. I scheduled a specific week and we will schedule the exact time using the schedule above. Please answer the 4 pre-observation questions in Frontline prior to our meeting. At this meeting, please share the specific date and time of your observation and schedule your post-conference date and time. Please upload the lesson plan I will observe under artifacts at least 24 hours prior to your observation.

Observation 30-45 minute observation of a lesson of your choosing. Please review the TEI to ensure that your lesson aligns with the tool. This is not a direct instruction observation instrument.

Post-Conference 15 minutes. Please make sure that you have reviewed feedback prior to the post- conference meeting and come prepared with questions/reflections.

Summative Evaluation 15-20 minutes. Complete the Domain 5 self reflection 24 hours prior to the spring Summative meeting. Please bring evidence form below again for Domain 4 and your laptop to our meeting.

Finally, here is what I understand about your performance pay $800.00
~The 20-30% student growth (SMART GOAL) is no longer part of the formula.
~ If a continuing teachers receives 2 or more developing scores, you may not waive the 2nd evaluation.
~ If developing scores do not improve with 2nd evaluation, continuing teachers will be put on a notice of inadequacy (will not receive $800.00) and improvement plan.
~ Non-continuing teachers (3yrs or less) must have 2 evaluations.  Your formula does not include developing scores.  You will receive your $800.00

If you have addition suggestions on how to make this process meaningful for your growth, please don't hesitate to let me know!
