School Improvement Focus

Sure do love this new .png

It is that time of year!  All staff, please fill out this form by February 1, 2023 for future planning.  Thank you.

Snow day information will be made public soon.

The way I understand it, we have used our two snow make-up days that were built into our current calendar.  This means there will be school on 4/24 and 5/5.  IF we have more snow days we will not have students make them up at the end of the year by extending their year.  We are in compliance with educational minutes required if we have a few more snow days.  However, certified teachers will indeed have to extend their contract days at the end of the year to make up additional snow days.  This would mean returning to school after Memorial weekend (without students).  There is so much opportunity for us as a staff if this were to happen.  However, certified staff would be able to use personal leave if they choose.  Classified staff, you may use your time off or you may make up some hours throughout the week.  I am here to work with you.  Be prepared for a long or longer weekend.

As you are aware, we are looking at impactful snowfall throughout the holiday weekend.

Snow accumulations should be expected starting late Saturday evening through Sunday, rather immediately followed with another event starting Monday forecasted to continue through Tuesday.

Full event totals are estimated anywhere between 16-24” total, with a mix of white out conditions and wet, heavy snow being a potential. Heavy snow has an increased potential for loss of power with loading on mast heads and crossarms; APS will have response available throughout the event however please be personally prepared for such potential at your residence.

Please be advised that as of the webinar yesterday afternoon, travel is NOT RECOMMENDED on Sunday.

We will be monitoring this storm event throughout the weekend, and will provide updates in reply to this email as best as timely as possible.

Respectfully,

Marshall will host our Kindergarten Open House on Wednesday, February 8, 2023
 from 4:30-6:00pm.
We intend to have all special area teachers, Suzuki Violin instructor, Magnet Monday Coordinator, ELL, ESS, and PTO represented. Thank you for saving the date.

The Story of Martin Luther King, Jr. by Kid President

Once upon a time, there was a man named Martin Luther King, Jr. He taught us that things won't always be awesome, but your response can be. Remember, things don't always have to be they are. We can change them! Kids can change them. This Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, celebrate the promise of change with Kid President.
