SHOUT OUTS  (<--you can click the green words and submit)
Please help us all see what is happening behind the scenes!

~Thank you Mrs. Hartsock
Ashley Hartsock, thank you for watching my class for the last hour when I had to go get sick Ivy from school and then some! ~ Katie Krause
~Thank you to ALL  who reached out to offer a bit of love & kindness to Mrs. C on School Counselor's week ~ Mrs. C
~Thank you Ms. Shaw and Mrs Fahy
I got to sit in with Mrs. Shaw as she walked her students through the new library page and it was so fun. Great job Mrs. Shaw showing the kids the different parts. It was so fun to hear the kids and Mrs. Shaw! My 2nd shout out is to Ms. Fahy- your page is so great! I loved the GIF poster and how the students can click on the books on the bookshelf! ~Amy Hanno
~Thank you  Ms. Beck
I am so inspired by how she is utilizing Canvas for her Cross-Categorical 2 class at Marshall Elementary School. It looks like each student's course is customized with daily schedules and information on accessing various service provider links.
I could not help but look around and share the amazing work Victoria Beck as completed in Canvas to support her students.  ~Renda Fisk

~Thank you  to my whole educational team in helping get my speechies on board with their services! It's a lot to juggle! You are appreciated! ~Mrs. Titus
~Thank you  Arizona Community Foundation of Flagstaff  for OVERFUNDING our proposal.  We asked for $6200 to move Suzuki into the virtual world.  They awarded us $6,700!  That is great grant writing Mrs. Hartsock!

Moving Safely Forward: Preparing for a hybrid model

In preparation for the possibility of an in person learning, it is necessary for us to remove porous materials from our classrooms. This includes carpet squares and cloth covered furniture.   Please consider clearing such stuff out of your classroom in the upcoming weeks.  We have also been asked to minimize the amount of "stuff" in our rooms in order to maximize the amount of student learning space. There will be more information to come on this, but please begin thinking about how you might arrange your teaching and learning space so 10 or so students can be adequately spread out.  Additionally, think about minimizing horizontal spaces and surfaces to clean.... If you need assistance with moving items, it has been approved for family members to come in and assist!  Who hoo!   You will just need to notify me ahead of time and have them follow the check in procedures (sign in, temp check, etc).

Family Survey- FUSD is working on the development of a family survey to determine their intention to return to in-person school IF we meet the county benchmarks. This survey will come out through ParentVue. Communication to us will come from FUSD.

Staff SurveyFUSD will be sending out a staff feedback survey based on a proposed hybrid models. I am unsure when this will come out. I highly encourage you to provide your feedback to help guide our district's decision making.

We are down to 3 students who need to be tested in AIMSWeb Plus!  Thank you again for your help in this process and texting us as soon as students popped into you Zoom meetings.

We will have GDM CTs this week to form our first round of RTI groups.  We look forward to meeting with you. Synergy testing is almost done also.  Thank you to those teachers who submitted their names on the Google Survey Form.

Leadership and Staff Supports <---click

Only 7 staffers have taken this survey. I was actually able to use some of the feedback in the creation of a hybrid model for elementary.  Please take a few minutes to reflect on the successes and needs as we approach the 1/2 mark in this historic 1st quarter.  Click link above.  Please submit by Wed. 9/16.

The Voice!

Two certified teachers submitted their name to represent Marshall in the Voice system!  Representing your colleagues and being involved in district-wide conversations is a very important job!
Description:
As a reminder the Voice system was developed to provide all district regular status staff members with an equal opportunity to participate in the future direction of the district. Voice Committee members obtain and provide feedback to their respective locations regarding successes and opportunities for improvement that impact the positive success of every staff member.  It is time for the election process for these roles.  We are looking for one Classified and one Certified representative from each location.
The exciting thing is that now we get to put it out to Certified staff only for a vote 🙂.  Only certified staff can vote and you can only vote 1 time.  Please submit your vote by Wednesday, Sept 16.

Andrea Shaw:
Hello Marshall. I am so excited for the opportunity to represent you at the Voice for another year. If ever there was a committee that was a fit for me, this is the one. I absolutely love being an advocate for my colleagues and taking your questions and concerns to the table and feel I have done this for Marshall well over the last three years. The voice is more than just taking your forms to the committee. Often, we are given information about things that are happening or up and coming in the district. I have always been able to be active in these times, asking questions on your behalf and troubleshooting and problem solving within the committee, not just listening to the given information. I think my role as a classroom teacher over the last 28 years has helped me to know what teachers concerns and needs are and that has helped me to advocate for you successfully. The last thing I think I have done well is communicate this information back to you, either individually in regard to your forms, or through emails and in the Marshall blog regarding the broader information. I have always felt it is important to communicate this information to you, giving you the facts you need as it pertains to your job and you as a certified classroom teacher. Thank you Marshall friends, looking forward to another year as YOUR voice representative!

Eva Herberger:
Hi Marshall! I just want to start off by saying how much our school means to me. I see how hard you all work each and every day to create safe friendly places for your students to learn and grow, even virtually! I'm ready to bring YOUR voice to the voice. I 'm ready to bring a voice to advocate for our students with disabilities. I am here because I like to solve problems. I love creating concrete change that will positively impact those around me. I will bring this attitude with me to the voice "so if there's a problem, yo I'll solve it, check out the hook while my DJ revolves it. Ice, ice baby."
But really, all jokes aside, I'm here for you, our students, and our community.
Thank you! 🙂

Certified only, place your vote HERE.  All responses are confidential.  Emails are collected to assure that only certified vote and only vote 1 time.  Thank you Eva and Andrea for your willingness to serve! We all win with either of you at the table!

This is too real!

Everybody Matters- No grant, no problem!  Mrs. C and I are still working with Everybody Matters to get a social worker on campus!!  We are getting creative with funding.  It will be wonderful to have another layer of support for our Marshall community. More to come soon.
