~Thank you Erin, Christina and Bianca
Thank you for continuing to troubleshoot for parents, students and our teachers. ~ALL STAFF
~Thank you Amy and Russ
Thank you for all of your work on benchmark testing and group formation.  We are getting closer.  ~ALL STAFF

THE HUB: Where you can find information quickly! Top right.
Several certified and classified Mustangs still need to sign off on Professional Expectations (read and sign form at the bottom of the document),  fill out Professional Commitment Plan (certified only) and ER Contact Info. Let's get that done, please.  All three forms are highlighted.

Congratulations Department Chairs!
    • Restorative Practices/PBIS: Katie Krause & Jessica Housholder
These teachers will support the implementation of the school-wide Restorative Practices program in collaboration with PBIS model,
assure all teachers have PR and Sanford Harmony trainings and materials (book study), and run monthly meetings with the RP/PBIS practices.
    • Parental Engagement: Heather Overton
This person will coordinate Parent University (fall and spring +), assure Marshall has a parent representative at the district Parent Advisory Committee or Growth and Inspiration, communicate with our PTO, provide professional development for staff, and run monthly meetings with the Parental Engagement Committee.
    • School Improvement: Alianah Mijares
This person will work with community partners, Marshall Leadership Team and district personnel on Marshall's CNA (Comprehensive Needs Analysis), IAP (Integrated Action Plan) and budgetary planning,  Monthly meetings with the Marshall Leadership Team will steer school-wide decisions and future planning.

Committee meetings will begin mid to end of September.

Panorama Social Emotional Learning Platform is coming to FUSD!

We will start with a that survey covers the areas of self-management, emotional regulation, self-efficacy, social awareness and school climate for students in
grades 3-5.

Sept 7-11 Parents of 3-5th graders will be given the opportunity to "Opt Out" of the survey.  Since we cannot send home letters and not all parents are able to access attachments to synergy, I created a google form you can push out to parents notifying them of Panorama and giving them the chance to OPT OUT.  You do not need permission for the survey, just need to give them the info about it and the chance to opt out, not in.  Here is the form. Panorama Parent Letter  Mrs. C will let you know if any parents opt out.

Sept 14-28
Teachers and staff administer surveys anytime this week.  Complete survey takes approximately 15-20 minutes to administer.  There are two surveys: one is for grades 3-5 and the other is for grades 6-12.  Again, this is district-wide.

Sept 28-Oct 2 Survey Results Available

Oct 2 at 2pm
Live Zoom training for Data Inquiry:  Schools may send 4-5 staff for this 90 minute training from the Panorama team.  This is one of two PD opportunities included in our contract.  The second will be at the end of the year after the second survey.  Review of the various reports you can pull from this platform once the survey is completed will be covered.  If you are interested, please let Mrs. Carrozzino know!

Counselor's Corner is in The Hub - be sure to check it out!!
Included are 3 forms explained below.

Virtual Check-in/Temperature Check - this allows parents and students to reach out to me to let me know how they're doing or let me know they'd like to meet with me.  Feel free to share this on your webpage or class management system, too.

Tier 2 Teacher Referral - this allows you to refer a student to me for Tier 2 interventions.  The referrals can be for behavioral, emotional, or social reasons.  This will not replace the B-IDM form, but I see this as the step prior to the B-IDM.

Parent Permission - I imagine you won't use this often, but if you have a parent who is saying they're open to their child meeting with me individually, let's not lose momentum - send them the link and ask them to complete the form.  I MUST have parent permission to meet individually (or in small groups) BEFORE I can reach out to the child.  It's not like when in-person - I must have parent permission first.

As always, feel free to reach out to Mrs. C. via email or text (440-452-5987) at any time. She is here to support you and our students, even when she is not in the building.

Welcome to RTI Corner
Mr. Kasch and I will do our best to keep you updated through email, but we all know we get more email than we can keep up with and soon they get lost in the shuffle.  We will be using this section of the BLOG to add important information and dates.   We would like to give a shout out to all of you during these past two weeks of one-to-one testing!  Your flexibility and understanding has been so appreciated.  We may be popping in to morning meetings next week to  catch any kids who we have not tested yet.

All students, 2nd-5th grade, should be done with the MComp test by Friday, September 11,2020.  This is a directive from the state.  Once your class has finished please fill out the MComp Completion Form .

CTs and RTI should be starting soon.  We are slowly building the groups as we finish all, or close to all, of the ORF testing. Watch your email for rough drafts.

Enjoy your LONG weekend! Amy and Russ

All Certified Staff PD on Friday, Sept 11th 1:30-3:30pm!

Marshall teamed up with DeMiguel & Kinsey to bring you a professional learning opportunity specific to remote teaching support!

      We will:
Revisit UDL Core Concept using a Remote Learning Lens.

Identify Barriers in a remote learning environment.
Use the UDL Guidelines to design options to reduce barriers to engagement, representation and action and expression in a remote learning environment.
Use design tools to examine and re-design lessons to be used in a remote learning environment.

Sadly, we will not be able to accommodate student teachers and classified staff with this PD.  We are limited in numbers.

We need 5 dress up days and a flyer to post.

Who would like to coordinate this?

Heather Overton will start checking GradeBook set up for you on Sept. 14th.  If you need help with grade book, please ask Heather.  She is our grade book support super hero!

Please pick up your PPEs in the nurse's office, sign the document showing receipt of shields and face masks, and give to Nurse Liz. We must turn the signed forms in to the District office by the end of next week.  Thank you!

Leadership and Staff Supports

Please take a few moments to provide feedback on how this school year is going thus far, what ongoing needs you may have, and I how I can better support you at the site based level and in representing you in district dialogue. Thank you in advance for your considerate candor, team! It's only through our own reflection that we grow! Click the link above.
