Marshall Mustang Memo: Rest, relax, refresh! 2nd Quarter Strong

First quarter strong! You did it!

We are still in Remote Learning Only. The data will be sent by FUSD in an email every Friday. We have met two of the three benchmarks for moving into phased reopening in-person learning. We MUST meet all three benchmarks and remain there for two consecutive weeks before we begin the phase-in model.

NEW TO ME: IT IS RETROACTIVE! THIS MEANS IF WE MEET THE BENCHMARKS ON FRI., THAT IS WEEK 1 BEHIND US!

The earliest staff would be required to be in the building is Oct. 26, IF we meet the benchmarks this Friday (Oct. 16th). As of today, this is not likely going to be the case, giving us yet another week but we must wait on official FRIDAY results. We continue to finalize our plans and prepare our entire building for in-person learning and how that will be communicated.

NEW TO ME: We all received an email today that NO ONE is allowed in FUSD buildings from 5:00pm today until 8:00am on Saturday, Oct. 17th. Maintenance and Facilities personnel will be working throughout the break and will be doing enhanced cleaning in each building. Nish knows which rooms are ready and that some of you need more time. She will make sure that nothing is ruined in your room if it is not ready. She has been incredible! If you see her, thank her. Also, please don't place stuff in the hall for others to move. Furthermore, all school team members need to leave school sites by 5:00 p.m. each day so that teams can clean the facilities. All windows need to be closed when staff leave for the day. Thank you to those who have prepared your rooms. We know it was a lot of work and it will save Nish a great amount of work in keeping your space clean. Well done!!

Collaboration Hours
We have enough money to begin with up to 4 hours of collaboration time for our teachers to be paid just over $28/hr off of contract time to work on UDL lesson development. Keep your focus narrow. Tackle one part of the UDL design process at a time. Please fill out THIS sheet to communicate with me your collaborative plan and don't forget to fill out a time sheet for that time period.

Hi all,
I’m Jolene Woody, an EL Specialist/SEI Teacher here at the awesome Marshall School!
I have taught in FUSD for 19 years. I've taught 8 years at Leupp Public School (grades 4th-6th), a year at Killip as an SEI teacher, 7 years at Kinsey as a 4th grade teacher, 4 years at Thomas as an SEI teacher (last year as an Interventionist).
My husband and I live here in Flagstaff. Our two sons (Michael and Gabriel) live out of state. I say we’re the Lumberjack family because my sons and I got our degrees at NAU. Also my husband works there. Go Jacks! :O)
Gabriel has an aquatic turtle named, "Turtle" She is 23 years old! Yes, she grew up with my boys. My husband and I decided to keep her in Flagstaff.
I love family time such as going to concerts/shows in Vegas, NFL games in Phoenix, and see new places when we travel. I realized this during the time we stayed home from Covid-19. :ol
I am thrilled to be at Marshall School. Go Mustangs!
