Safely Forward in the 4th Quarter!

Safely Forward
It is official...we can start to open up our schools.  Let's be very strategic about what we bring back, what mitigation strategies we can continue to practice, and have a clear purpose for volunteers in our classrooms.
Yes, family members can volunteer in your classroom (with a clear purpose).  If you wish to have a volunteer who is not a family member, you must have them fill out a volunteer clearance form (front office).
4th QTR - Marshall wants to move forward with:
Rock the AASA pep rally grades 3-5 (outside)
Dance grades 3-5 (Student Council)
5th grade promotion
Kinder graduation
Kinder open house
Suzuki performance at Heritage Sq.
Cardinal's football camp
May 18 - All school carnival (outside)
Magnet Monday Showcase event
Coordinated walk-in mornings for families "Walk your student to class day".  We don't want to go back to families lingering outside of your classroom door in the mornings and afternoons. However, parents really want in the building.  Let's plan one day a week where families can walk their student in....
Lunch, recess, and cohorting:
Based on staff input, we will continue with our 6 lunches for the remainder of the year.  In fact, with our RTI schedule, we are likely to continue with 6 lunches next year (Pat approved).  The behavior in the lunchroom is much nicer with smaller numbers.  And of course, it is safer. Seating assignments are no longer required but it really does bring order and decrease issues when students know where they are sitting.   We will continue with what we are doing.
I am seeking feedback re: cohorting for morning recess and other recess times when we have 2 grades outside simultaneously.  We can start to relax zoning at this time.  Is that something we WANT to do?
