Hello March!

Students:

Claimed Full Day Fridays: Students will be dismissed at 3:25pm on the below dates.

  • March 3, 2023

  • March 8, 2023 (Wednesday)

  • March 24, 2023

  • April 7, 2023

  • April 14, 2023

  • April 21, 2023 - Staff PD Day rescheduled (TBD)

  • April 28, 2023

  • May 5, 2023

  • May 12, 2023

  • May 19, 2023 - We are considering keeping this a ½ day and moving the full day to May 18th, which was originally set aside for standards reports. May 19 would then be a half day that we would use for Gradebook/standards reports.

March 31 is a scheduled half day and will remain so. This is due to high school ACT testing and their need for a half day that week. We will also have our half day that Friday.

Staff:

Past Snow Days:  Certified Staff and Licensed Professionals are expected to work their contractual days/times, or use available leave, to make-up five (5) days after the end of the school year.  Information will be forthcoming regarding opportunities for professional learning and collaboration to account for these days.

Potentially 2-3 Days district planned, 1-2 days site-based.

Classified staff: Make up hours during that week or use leave time

Present and Future Snow Days:

Certified and Licensed Professional staff: may work remotely from home or offsite

on any future dates school is canceled.  These days can be used for individual or

collaborative planning time, or remote meetings and professional development

opportunities scheduled by administrators.

  • Staff will be responsible for ensuring completion of Telecommuting/Work from Home Agreements to verify remote work on that day.  The Telecommuting/Work from Home Agreement will be emailed each morning of the cancellation day.

  • Staff choosing not to work remotely on these canceled days will be expected to call off and use personal leave.

Classified staff: can either make up time during the same week of a cancellation, work remotely, or use leave.

  • Classified staff time will be managed by the Time Clock Plus system.

  • Menu of professional development options will be shared

  • Talk to your direct supervisor for ideas/support

Dr. Huffman is collecting our ideas for how to make up the 5 days. Mrs. Burton hosted a zoom meeting and many ideas were given.

Please together with colleagues to brainstorm ideas – peer groups, departments, grade-level teams. Use this link to submit your proposal. When done, share your copy back to me (Reasor) as well as Dr. Huffman at lhuffman@fusd1.orgProposal for Make-up Days (Summer, 2023) This must be done by Friday.

Marshall - Best Practices in our final months

Our growth mindset is strong! Marshall teachers are working so hard this year on the Science of Reading knowledge, strategies, and practice. K-3 has really dug deep into phonics with our 95% PCP. School-wide, we are going deeper with our Restorative Practices. I get to see the amazing knowledge come to practice in your classrooms. Marshall encourages peer to peer observations and self reflection opportunities to continue to grow in our Tier I instruction. Every year we include this in our School Improvement Plan (IAP) and while you continue to express it is important, we always seem to run out of time. Let's really plan ahead this year! Use this form to set up a time/date for Swivl technology to record your lesson and reflect upon your practice. Use this form to request coverage to observe best practices in another classroom. Please be specific with days and times to assist us in coverage. We are doing amazing things! Let's continue to grow, together.

Help us see behind the scenes!  Take a moment to validate a Wingman!
