Let's make time to acknowledge our amazing teammates!

Mrs. Jones, Ms. Eve and Tr. Jude thank you for jumping in to help cover students this week! ~ Mrs. Hauer

Thanks 4th grade team for helping me get familiar with some of our new fifth graders, and Kristie Jones for setting up an amazing board in front of my room! Marshies are the best:-) ~ Ms. Fisher

Jen Burgoon- Thank you so much for helping me out. Your popping in and out to just see if I was above water was much appreciated! You always know... :-) ~Mrs. Bianco

Teacher Jackie for popping in to the chaos of first days of kindergarten to see if I needed anything! You read my mind and thank you! ~ Mrs. Bianco

Shout out to Nurse Liz! She always knows each student so well and knows how to care for each one as an individual. Thank you for always communicating with me about my class and taking such great care of all of us. ~ Mrs. Ayala

"Angela Walter - Thank you so much for working so hard to organize Magnet Monday with all of the hectic changes. Thank you for helping me figure out Lego robotics! You do so much!" ~ Ms. Mears

Here is the  FORM to fill out for the Mustang Gallop Book Theme for your class.  Just so that everyone is on the same page regarding the Gallop, please do not spend money on supplies for student costumes for your class. Get creative with how you can use what we have to contribute to your theme. Costume planning shouldn't cost staff or families any money. Thanks!

HERE ARE the directions on how teachers can access the Student SPED/504 Information sheet. The other way is no longer accessible. The gen ed teacher will have access to all their SPED students on one list through this portal, as long as the teacher is listed on the student's profile page with their name and email address under the gen ed section.

High Quality Instruction
Culture of Feedback
As previously mentioned, FUSD is asking principals to be in classrooms weekly doing 20-ish min observations and scheduling brief instructional coaching feedback meetings. I will be working on that schedule this week. Please note: I am always flexible so please communicate your needs with me as your time comes close. I will not surprise you for these visits. These are informal observations but evidence can be applied to Formal TEI.  For several of my walkthroughs, I may be joined by Heather Overton, Alianah Ramirez, and/or Lance Huffman. If you are uncomfortable with multiple people in your room, please reach out to me to discuss.

Indicators of High Quality Instruction

Here is one of the observational tools that will be used when Superintendent Huffman observes in classrooms this year. Please take a peek. I will continue to use the ELEOT observation tool since a majority of our staff is familiar with it and it allows for me to go back to compare observation walkthroughs prior.

TEI PLAN

Please review the TEI PLAN for the 2023-2024 school year. This document includes the following: A link to the rubric, overview of the indicator timeline, the observation timeline (Observation Timeline (it is ready)!) which includes information on the pre-conference, observation, post conference, and summative evaluation expectations. Please review this thoroughly.

Picture day will take place in the Library on Thursday, September 21st.  Both group and individual photos will fit in this area. We are arranging for the furniture to be moved and risers transported.  Library plan for that Thursday TBD (not canceled). All staff photo at 8:30am sharp!

Magnet Monday and Suzuki start 9/11!

Tabitha, is the Director of Basketball Operations at NAU. Her message to Marshall teachers:
Over the last year, we have been working hard to get into local classrooms to build relationships and offer mentorship for young students. If you have the availability in the next couple of months, we would love to find some time to come in and talk to your students about staying active, basketball, teamwork, and the importance of continuing education. If this is of interest, I would love to chat more and get something on the calendar.
Looking forward to hearing back from you and go Jacks!

Interested?

They have morning available. Let me know HERE.

This is just a reminder about two state mandates for September. The first is that we must dedicate a part of our day on September 11th (or the nearest weekday if 9/11 falls on a weekend) to teaching about the attacks. The second is that September 25th is Sandra Day O'Connor Civics Day. On this day (or the nearest weekday if it's a weekend), the majority of the day should be dedicated to civics education.
Below are resources to teach these topics.

Walk your student to class Fridays
Families and our front office are having a hard time with every other Friday walk your student to class day.  After much consideration, we are going to allow all families to walk in on all Fridays.  If you need your prep that morning, simply put a note on the door that states "Please meet me on the playground".  I value your prep time and I value the community our families desire to be a part of.  As it is, most families are walking straight to the playground and not visiting the classrooms.  This compromise is very important to a few of our families.  Thank you for your cooperation

This is the Student Leadership Council from Flagstaff High School. We are inviting you to watch our annual homecoming parade. Our parade is
Friday, September 8th and will start at 11:00 AM. This year's Homecoming theme is Disney. We would encourage you to promote a Disney themed spirit day theme on Friday to promote school spirit.  We have attached a flyer that could be printed or posted on social media. We also have attached the parade route.
